The CD drive should just use a standard driver so nothing else really needs to be downloaded - try going to device manager and right clicking on the drive - select uninstall - and then goto computer or my computer at the top of device manager right click and select scan for new hardware so it reinstalls it.

if the drive is missing completely try the following

1. Click Start

6. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
7. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
8. In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
