I was thinking of setting up a dual monitor setup on my desktop computer to give me one screen for email and the other for browsing, word procesing, how easy and expensive is this and what would i need?

Hi Dicky
setting up dual monitors is pretty easy, all you need is a computer with two video output ports, this can be a laptop with a docking station or port rep with two video outs or a desktop computer with either a graphics card with either dual video outputs or even 2 video cards with single outputs, there are also some other solutions around such as Matrox 2 go, that enable you to split single video ports into 2.

Apart from this you also need 2 video cables the type of connections on these will depend on the video outputs on the monitors and on the graphics card(s) this will either be VGA or DVI. Thats about it, as far as software goes windows will automatically recognise the extra screen. more here on this
