make sure its not trying to use the same drive letter as any other devices, you should not need to install any drivers for this to work - many flash drive suffer from the same issue - checkout this article for information on this, it cover flash drives but the principles of resolving the problem are the same - http://www.computer-adviser.com/usb-flash-drive-not-working.html
