it looks as though the structure of the disk has an issue, try running CHKDSK over it and see if it can be repaired and the files recovered, More here on CHKDSK

Must be referring to the video cable that runs between the computer at the monitor, try removing and reconnecting checking none of the pins are damaged from either end of the cable

I used to build my own computers, its a good way to learn and it used to be cheaper, but now i would recommend buying prebuilt as you get a complete warranty, one thing goes wrong and you simply send the whole thing back, but if you put together yourself each component has its own warranty so you need to ascertain where the problem is, remove the component and then send for repair which is a real pain.

But if your doing this to learn about computers go for it, as its the best way to learn, more here

The model numbers usually depict various revisions so the part number should be enough, its like this with Lenovo so i guess its the same.

it really depends on which laptop, we upgrade the CPU on an Acer a few years ago, but you have to take into account not only the CPU socket, but also will the new CPU require more power, will it also generate more heat, will your laptops current cooling system be able to manage? more on the Acer upgrade here..

it certainly sounds suspect, have you recently installed any applications? as some setup an account to give them rights to your system.

try disabling the account and also make sure all of your enabled accounts have good strong passwords as if your computer is hacked someone must have logged into it to create the extra account in the first place - more on finding out if your computer has been hacked

sounds like its corrupt - you need to run a repair over office - goto uninstall office and you will see the option to repair it. more on repairing MS Office

go into the BIOS and see if you can see the hard drive listed, if you can try running a windows repair, if you cant is sounds like the drive has failed - more on repairing XP

did you check your IP address settings? make sure everything is set to DHCP if you have no dedicated DNS or Name servers.

also might be worth flushing the DNS cache IPCONFIF /FLUSHDNS

try adding the sites to trusted - Tools - Internet Options - Security - Trusted Sites (remember to untick the Require server verification) or you wont be able to add sites such as facebook.

setup an adhoc network you just need each computer to have a wireless card and the one actually sharing the internet connection must have two cards one for the incoming connection and the other to share it. more on ad hoc networks
