Having connected to monitor for easier viewing now it is disconnected can’t restore the laptop screen to view all and have to scroll sideways and up and down?? How do I reset it?

I bought the above laptop with 250GB hard drive. The hard drive size shows 133 GB. The seller tells me that the rest is a “hidden partition” for Windows 7. Is this possible please? Do I need this huge 117GB size hidden partition? How do I resize it and to what size? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!
When i start my Sony laptop. It shows its logo and stops there and even don’t open boot sequence mode and keyboard and cd rom are working.
