computer turns itself off

I was given a desktop computer and have set it up i believe it is an older model. I put the computer together and went to turn it on the modem comes on with power however the monitor will not display anything on screen and everytime i turn it on regardless of it hooked up to modem or not it will turn itself off within 5 seconds of it coming on. I have tried several different things such as holding the power button in as it comes up, i have tried the control alt delete, i have pressed any and all buttons as soon as it comes on, no matter what i do it will cut itself off within 5 seconds like it is stuck in a sleep mode. Is there something at all that i can try?

ok my optical drive broke, im purchaing a new one do i need to just match the part number or the model number too..its on a compaq presario v6000 and the part number is 431412-001, witha model number of GMA-4082N, i have not been able to find one with same model number but several with same part number…

keyboard errors

some keys in the keyboard not functioning properly. for eample if i’ve to type “keyboard” i can get the result as “2eyb6ard”. i am able to temporarily fix it by pressing the “fn’ key.

Mouse Movement

Occasionally, more often lately, my mouse indicator moves by itself. I will try to point to something, then it moves away on it’s own. I replaces the battery over and over, and also bought a new mouse. Those steps didn’t help. It’s not all the time, but generally after I have been online for a time. Of course, it never happens at all, offline.

Could my computer have been hacked? And how do I tell?
