General Computer Questions

i have aquired a used server with sata hard drives that were wiped clean. Ii installed windows xp fine but the computer will not detect the lan connection even though it is enabled. any suggestions

I need to buy a printer but not sure what to go for either an inkjet or a laser type, but whats better i only need to print in black and white, but need to print a lot of copies , so speed would be of the essence. thanks Rich
