its a common issue as many applications do not uninstall properly.
the best thing to do is uninstall the application as your doing, then check to make sure its removed the directory the application was in, also check for application shortcuts.
and finally run an application to clean up the registry and remove the now invalid entries, something like regclean does a good job (just make sure you backup the registry beforehand, just in case)
